Marin Museum of the American Indian

Olompali State Historic Park
- The name "Olompali" comes from the Miwok language and may be translated as "southern village" or "southern people."
- At least one site within the area of the present-day park was inhabited from as early as 6000 B.C. until the early 1850s.
- A project is underway to build several structures representative of a Coast Miwok village. Visitors to the park can see two kotchas (houses), one made from redwood bark and another made with bundles of native tule reeds.
- Location: 3 mi. north of Novato on U.S. 101. The entrance is accessible only to southbound traffic from Highway 101. Northbound vehicles should continue north past the park and make a U-turn in order to travel south and enter the park.

Point Reyes National Seashore
- The Bear Valley Visitors Center features exhibits on the Coast Miwok people, early Rancho life, and American settlement.
- Extensive educational resources are available, including programs, workshops, internships and more (http://www.nps.gov/pore/educate.htm).
- Visitors Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
